Company Milestones
Explore the years of experience in bringing our vision of efficient, safe, and innovative VTOL flight to life.
1989-1992
Concept Exploration
Initial sketches of fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing airframes, as well as several concepts and equipment evaluations for a way to innovate the VTOL aircraft concept.
1993-2002
Subscale Component Testing
Ongoing equipment and component research and exploration utilizing scaled R/C models for prototyping and rotor testing.
2002-2005
First All-Inclusive Prototype
Continued narrow component testing with the design of the first all-inclusive proof-of-concept prototype.
2003-2005
First Patent Awarded
Introduction of project at EAA AirVenture 2005 after awarded first US Patent for fixed-wing aircraft configuration, along with construction of the first quarter-scale functional proof of concept airframes (EMJ-X1 and EMJ-X2).
2005-2008
Airframe Configuration Testing
Co-Founded Morgan Aircraft, and began iterative engineering and testing of airframe configurations. Several full and partial sub-scale airframes flown and tested (X3, FreeBird, Delta-Wing), in addition to submitting additional patent applications for slow-flight aircraft control methods.
2009-2011
Engineering & Analysis with CFD
Increased third party validations and narrowed best practices into three POC airframe builds, the EMJ5, EMJ7, and EMH-HT. Brought in top industry consultants to close the airframe and prepare for optimized POC design and build.
2012-2017
Modular Airframe Configuration Design
Cofounder Brian Morgan, continued honing and developing model plans, including multiple aircraft structure types.
2017-2019
VOX Aircraft Founded
VOX Aircraft founded and takes full ownership and control of all patents and assets. Reorganization and planning for relaunch of projects under co-founder Brian Morgan’s leadership. Begin component testing and development toward next sub-scale POC demonstrator.
2019-2020
Acquisition /JV Discussions & Completion of 10% POC
VOX Aircraft engages with industry partners to consider acquisition/JV proposals. Final assembly of current POC airframe begins, and planning of flight-test, demonstrations/recordings, and video release. Next generation airframe designs and large-scale conforming prototype to be focused through partnership/JV relationships and defined missions sets.
2020-Present
POC Completed & Test Flights Begin
The 10% POC airframe has been completed and first flight tests have been hugely successful! A short video is produced to show the highlights of these very first flights. This is a 10% scale version of one of our larger OMV airframe designs to be called the “M300” project. Flight testing will continue in subsequent weeks and additional videos will be released.
